By participating in this no-cost study, you will help us understand how VR (virtual reality)—a new approach in pain management—may help relieve chronic lower back pain.

No in-person visits are required. All materials will be mailed for use at home. All surveys are electronic.

What to Expect
Eligibile participants will be asked to:
Complete 8 week program
Complete an eight-week virtual reality therapeutic program for pain
Complete daily VR session
Complete one VR session a day (range of 2-16 minutes in length)
Answer weekly online surveys
Answer weekly questions via convenient online surveys
Participate in extended treatment
Participate in an optional eight-week extended treatment (if randomly selected)
Complete follow-up surveys
Complete occasional follow-up surveys (for up to two years)
ELIGIBILITY
You May Be Eligible to Participate if You...
- Have had low back pain for three months or longer
- Are between the ages of 18 and 85
- Can speak English fluently
- Have daily access to Wi-Fi and/or Internet using a smartphone or computer
- Have a physical mailing address that is not a PO box address
- Are willing and able to comply with all study procedures
- Can give voluntary, written informed consent to participate
